A Simple Weekly Grooming Routine for Dogs and Cats

Five minutes a day keeps coats shiny and sofas clean. Here is a weekly routine that fits real life.

Grooming is not just about looks. A regular routine helps you spot lumps, ticks and skin problems early, and it keeps shedding under control. You do not need a long session; a few short ones work better than one big weekend wash.

A week at a glance

  • Monday: brush the coat in the direction of hair growth
  • Wednesday: wipe paws and check between toes
  • Friday: check ears and gently clean the outside of them
  • Sunday: bath or wipe-down if needed, then brush again

Pick the right brush

Short coats like a soft silicone or rubber brush. Long and double coats do better with a slicker or a brush with rounded bristles. Our grooming and bathing range has brushes for both.

Make it a treat

Keep sessions short, calm and rewarding. A treat at the end teaches pets that grooming is something to look forward to.

Know your limits

If you see matting close to the skin, sores or a strong smell, ask a groomer or your vet for help instead of working through it at home.
